Today both groups had languages in the morning. After lunch we split into smaller various groups for the sports options and for the art students.
The sports options were Tennis in the upper courts at the verbier sports centre, golf at the pitch and put course with amazing views of the entire valley or football in le chable, a full sized football pitch. The art students also went to the football pitch to take some fantastic shots of the football players.
After the sports day in the gorgeous sunshine, everyone went to the outside swimming pool to enjoy the diving board, relaxing and playing outside games together. Then children then went shopping in the local shops.
After dinner today the children will be showing of their talents in the LES ELFES TALENT SHOW! they have been practicing for three weeks and I cant wait to see the show!

Geneva
Genevas fountain,
five hundred litres of water per second are jetted to an altitude of 140 metres by two 500 kW pumps. The water leaves the nozzle at a speed of 200 km/h. When it is in operation, at any given moment there are about 7,000 litres of water in the air.

An early start today..but no languages! we're off on excursions!
Group A) went to the Caillier Chocolate factory in the morning to learn some of the secrets behind the world famous Swiss chocolate! The journey to Vevey after was a little quiet, think there was a little too much free chocolate samples eaten! was very tasty though. At Vevey the students got to get some valuable shopping time in.
Group B) went to France 1st thing to see the town of Evian..Here they got to drink from the 1st fountain that the famous water comes from. We then took a boat trip across Lac Leman(lake Geneva) to Luasanne where they too got to spend the afternoon shopping & having a look round the mix of old & new architecture.
In the evening we had a very special guest come in to do a presentation. Xavier Rosset spent 300days on a un-inhabited island, taking only a knife & satelite phone(strictly for medical emergencies) all the students were fixated by the stories of his adventure & gave a massive round ...

No languages today and a early!...
Both groups headed out in the mini bus's on a excursion. Group A) went to Geneva where they visited the Natural History museum .In the natural history museum they get to learn about All the animals that have walked the earth..Even seeing some dinosaur bones & lots of wierd mineral crystals!
The Natural History museum has a very nice lawn out the front so we had a picnic there before spending the rest of the afternoon exploring the city centre & getting some valuable shopping time in.
While group A) were busy learning about our planets history.....
Group B) went to the Gruyère region to check out the cheese factory! Here they learn the whole productions process from the different plants that grow, that give it its specific aroma, to where the cows graze, hows its turned...well churned, matured & sent out to all the cheese loving public! They also got to sample some of this famous cheese at different ages of its maturing stages!

14.07.11 Excursion day
Today was a really special day in the morning instaed of having languages all the groups went on a excursion. Group A went to the lovely town Evian in France and experienced the natural spring water which is thought to have healing properties, after a tour around the beautifull town they took a boat trip over the lake back to Switzerland to the amazing Old city of Lausanne when arriving in Lausanne they had a picnic lunch on the side of the scenic lake. Afterwards they went on a tour of the amazing city and ended the afternoon with a little bit of shopping. In the morning group B went to the Olympic Museum which is in Lausanne, it is an amazing museum full of really interesting memorabilia of famous athletes from the past and also has a interesting section on the merchandise that we be for sale in the 2012 Olympics, after the museum they had a picnic lunch next to the lake in Ouchy and then after went for some shopping in Lausanne city centre. Mountain Huts
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day we had a amazing BBQ at Les Elfes for lunch and then left for the mountain huts. Group A went to Emosson which is a massive dam near the border of France, to get to the hut which is situated right next to the dam they had to take the steepest finicular in the world this was alot of fun, and then take a small mountain train around the mountain, when arriving at Emosson you can see amazing vierws and can see the big impresssive Mount Blanc, The children then enjoyed a nice hike around the dam and inside the caves. Group B went to beautiful Lac Taney, they had a amazing but tiring hike for an hour up hill to the lake, when arriving there it was so hot the children really enjoyed taking a swim to cool off in the lake. After dinner we made a fire and cooked marshmellows and played games. Group C went to Brunet were the had a nice hike up to the mountain hut next to the Brunet hut there was a small lake were the kids could swim. Today all the children came ...

Dear journal,
Switzerland is a beautiful country, therefore we decided to go down the valley and to explore the country side. Group A went to the zoo, we saw many animals there, especially mountain goats and specific animals that populate the Swiss Alps.
Then we went to the labyrinth,we had to find 10 castles in the labyrinth, including the Gruyère castle famous for the cheese. It was really difficult not to get lost but fortunately we all found our way out eventually! Not only the labyrinth was fun, there are so many games at the park like inflatable slides, trampoline .... it was loads of fun!
On this picture, the girls managed to find their way out, so they are quite happy!
And finally we went shopping that day, most of us bought some swiss chocolate! YUMMY !
In the meanwhile, Group B went to Bern, Bern is the capital of Switzerland, therefore it is a nice city to discover, we also went for some shopping and ended up at the chocolate factory! Af ...
