Ski trips do not always get the right consideration about the educational component they bring to students, but ski trips actually bring a lot of various positive and good skills to students by combining learning and having fun.
First of all students will learn a new exciting sport that is skiing, once they have learnt how to ski they will have these skills all their lives long.
A ski trip is a whole program that does not only teach you how to ski but also increases self-confidence for the students, improve skills, motivates and builds knowledge. All these components together help students to improve quickly and very confidently.
At Les Elfes we focus on improving students learning skills, and every moment or life situation is a good way of learning. We teach the students to look after themselves which involves the self management component, by looking after their gear, by getting ready on time and fully equipped in the morning etc…
At Les Elfes, your students will also take advantage of language lessons daily (should they wish to do so) that will improve their language skills, learn about mountain safety, mountain geography, local Swiss culture and local food.
The possibility of a day cultural excursion to one of the major Swiss cities such as Lausanne (the headquarters of the Olympic museum), Geneva (Headquarter of the United Nations), Montreux and its worldwide known castle will make your trip even more enjoyable and cultural.
Students will have to learn how to live together in a big group, also maybe with students from other schools, from other countries and from other cultures and will have to adapt themselves and their behaviour that will undoubtedly develop their teamwork skills.
There will always be a possibility for the students to make a link with a key fact that they have been taught at school and a situation that happened on the ski trip.
All these components put together make ski trip a very educational experience for the students, the teachers who see the students evolving all throughout the week and the parents who will find their children in better physical and mental condition after coming back from their ski trip with Les Elfes.
