12th June – Biking, bridge swinging and Irtag

The fifth day at camp began with students eagerly continuing their language courses, building on the progress they’ve made so far. The classrooms were filled with focused energy as campers practiced speaking, listening, and engaging in fun, interactive activities tailored to their chosen languages. It’s clear that their confidence is growing each day, and the morning lessons set a productive and positive tone for the day ahead.

The Discoveries had a wonderful lunchtime outing to Baritan, a private spot with stunning views that made for a perfect picnic setting. Meanwhile, our more adventurous Discoveries took on the challenge of biking all the way to La Chaux, covering an impressive distance with determination and enthusiasm—a fantastic achievement that left everyone proud! Some of our less experienced bikers had a big milestone today as some learnt how to ride a bike, showing great perseverance and progress. With encouragement and practice, they gained confidence and balance, and it was wonderful to see their smiles as they mastered a new skill. To celebrate their success, they enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream outing, making the day even sweeter.

The Explorers had an action-packed time playing IRTAG, an exciting activity similar to laser tag. They raced around Les Elfes groungs, working in teams, strategizing, and laughing as they competed in friendly competition to win. The game brought out their adventurous spirit and teamwork, making it a definite highlight of the day. Everyone left the field buzzing with energy and stories to share.

For the Pioneers they went for an unforgettable adventure bridge swinging, filled with excitement and adrenaline. After being securely harnessed and briefed by the mountain guides, the students took turns leaping from the bridge and swinging out over the scenic gorge below. Cheers and encouragement filled the air as each participant conquered their nerves and embraced the thrill of the swing. A lot of courage and confidence- and a memory they’ll be talking about for a long time.

After a relaxing afternoon of free time the evening all the campers headed up to Le Hatey, a remote spot in the woods to enjoy a delicious evening meal followed by a campfire and of course marshmallows.

Another adventurous day and nearly mid way through the session, time is flying for our new campers in session 1.
