Friday 13th – Excursion day!!

Today the campers had a day off languges to have their full excursion day.

The Discoveries set out on a sunny morning to visit the local Maracottes zoo, eager to see the animals and explore the exhibits. After marveling at antelope, wolves, foxes and bears, they cooled off with a refreshing swim in the zoo’s special swimming pool, laughing and splashing. After the zoo visit, they continued their adventure to the mysterious Grottes aux Fées, a magical cave said to be home to enchanting fairies. Inside the cool, echoing cavern, the campers imagined the twinkling lights in the shadows were glimpses of the fairies themselves, adding a touch of wonder to their unforgettable day.

The Explorers and Pioneers all signed up to visit the beautiful city of Aosta. Just over an hours drive from Les Elfes, Aosta is a charming alpine town nestled in the mountains of northern Italy. Strolling through its cobbled streets, they explored quaint shops filled with local crafts, delicious cheeses, and handmade souvenirs, picking out gifts to remember their adventure. After shopping, they made their way to the nearby Feris castle, its ancient stone towers rising majestically against the sky. The guided tour and visit to Aosta blended fun, culture, and a sense of timeless wonder, leaving the campers full of stories to share.

When the campers returned they had a pizza feast, handmade pizza from our Italian chef and also a taste of Switzerland with some traditional raclette.

The evening the Discoveries enjoyed a games room night of ping pong, fooseball and table tennis tournaments, whilst the Explorers got their creative minds on in the game of Apprentice; a build and design game comparable to Dragons den. Pioneers put their thinking caps on for the quiz night, I wonder which team will win.

Another beautiful and sunny day for all the campers..tomorrow is International day so stay tuned for exciting updates and photos!
