The first ful lday for all the campers, after a good nights sleep for most, some still getting over jetlag, all the campers tucked into some delicious breakfast! This session we have 4 groups, so welcoming the Adventurer group squeezed inbetween Explorers and Pioneers.
The morning was the first for language lessons and although 98 students on camp, everyone left to language lessons on time ready to start their day either studying French, German, Spanish, Mandarin or English.
For the Discoveries they headed to Sembrancher just in the valley for a climbing session on real rock. They also had change to play games on the football pitch so having a mix of adventure and fun. One minute you’re scrambling up a boulder with chalky hands and sun on your back, the next you’re sprinting across the pitch. It’s a perfect mix of chill and chaos—half the group hanging off rocks, the other half chasing balls and laughing like maniacs. Who needs a gym when camp gives you both? In the evening they went to try their hand at the Verbier mini golf course, which was super fun for all our little campers.
For the Explorers they had fun in the Les Elfes sports day which is a whirlwind of action, with a round robin of golf, tennis, and basketball keeping everyone on their toes. One moment we were carefully lining up putts, the next we were swinging rackets or sprinting across the court for a layup. Each station brought its own mix of laughs, friendly competition, and the occasional wild shot. It was the kind of day where you could totally miss the golf ball but still feel like a champion by the time basketball rolled around. The Explorers spent the evening playing the cube, a loud musical game, which they all loved and got involved in!
The Adventurers speant their afternoon mountain biking in the mountains which was a total adventure from start to finish. Taking the gondola up is half the fun—you just sit back, bikes loaded, and watch the views get better with every meter climbed. At the top, the air’s cooler, the peaks stretch out forever, and the trails wind down like roller coasters through the trees. It’s a mix of adrenaline and awe, flying downhill with the mountains all around you. After dinner the group then had a go out our nightline, a course set up around Les Elfes where they have to navigate around a course blindfolded, teamwork here is the key.
The oldest campers; Pioneers had an epic day, starting with rock climbing in Levron where they tackled real rock faces and soaked up the mountain views. After the climb, they headed down into the valley and into the forest, where the vibe totally shifted—calm, shady, and perfect for a BBQ. They grilled food, told stories around the campfire, and just chilled out as the sun set through the trees. A perfect mix of adventure and classic camp magic.
A great first day for all the campers, ready for cabane night tomorrow!!
