As we move into July, we enjoyed another beautiful day in the sun with more action-packed activities at Les Elfes Summer Camp. The campers had their penultimate language classes this morning before enjoying a delicious ramen lunch to fuel them up for the afternoon adventures.
Our Discovery group headed down the valley to the Labyrinthe Adventure Park. Nestled between steep mountains, this enchanting labyrinth—the world’s largest hedge maze—offers a path that challenges young explorers to unlock ten hidden “treasures” amidst playful obstacles like zip lines, climbing walls, and slides. Once the maze was conquered, campers raced down giant 30‑metre slides, bounced on trampolines, played mini-golf, pedaled colourful karts, and enjoyed the giant inflatable play zones and tube-sled runs. Our Discoveries had ample opportunities to laugh, learn geography through miniature Valais landmarks, and burn off energy in a playful, safe setting.
The Explorer group set out on an exciting mountain biking adventure through forest trails and rolling hills. Equipped with helmets, bikes, and plenty of energy, the campers rode along winding paths, over wooden bridges, and through shaded woodland. Guided by experienced instructors, the group learned basic riding techniques and trail safety while tackling uneven terrain and thrilling descents. For many, it was their first time on a mountain trail, and the excitement was written all over their faces as they conquered each new challenge.
Rock climbing was the activity of the day for the Adventurer group—a day filled with excitement, encouragement, and personal triumphs. After a safety briefing and harness fitting, the campers took turns scaling the rock face, each finding their own route to the top. Some approached with confidence, while others faced their fears one foothold at a time—cheered on by their friends and instructors. The climbing session helped build trust, resilience, and problem-solving skills as they learned how to plan their next move and support one another. By the end of the day, even the most hesitant climbers had reached new heights, proudly reaching the summit and high-fiving their friends in celebration.
The Pioneer group had a blast banana boating on the sparkling waters of Lac Léman today, turning a sunny afternoon into a thrilling, laughter-filled adventure. Clad in life jackets and big smiles, the campers held on tight as the inflatable banana boat zipped across the lake, pulled by a speedboat that bounced them over waves and sent occasional splashes flying. The shrieks of excitement echoed across the water as the boat made sharp turns, testing their grip and balance—some fell off and laughed even harder as they climbed back on. With the stunning Alps in the background and the cool lake spray in the air, it was a perfect mix of adrenaline and summer fun.
The day at Les Elfes Camp ended with a big group music video! After the campers donned items of fancy dress and practiced their dance routine, it was lights, camera, action! Having put together a fun and creative cut, the campers now look forward to seeing the final results during our prize-giving evening on the final night of the session.
